Good game balance (fixed difficulty)
Later, adjustable internally in the game with "modifiers" (easier or harder)
Superbly designed boss battles...
Very fast action, also tactically demanding
The generated levels are always slightly different, but not as fluctuating in terms of difficulty as in Returnal.
A lush skills tree allows for continuous progress, which keeps motivation high.
Exciting story with interesting characters
Exploration and platform passages ensure diversity.
Famous effects, often full screen (particles)
Setting "Native 4K" at 60 frames per second (also on standard PS5); respectively scaled.
Very good textures, often photorealistic.
Almost imperceptible loading times
Great design of the opponent
Very good voice quality (also in German)
Brutal sound effects
First-class directional sound mixing
Catchy soundtrack
Only high game speed can easily overwhelm
... which sometimes repeat in a similar form
The principle of "try again and again" inspired by Roguelikes should suit you.
Rare performance drops
Small bugs

A combat system finely tuned to the millimeter.
The superb use of colors.
Reduce some elements compared to Returnal, but still aiming to improve.
Its story and narration are enigmatic, fascinating, and haunting.
Less introspective than Returnal, or in a different way.
Some areas do not change too much after several attempts.
Already craving a little more.

Beautiful cosmic horror setting and story.
Unique gameplay, fast and explosive
Artistic direction and music simply out of control
Exceptional sense of progression and narrative design
The allegorical component of the story is more subtle and less prominent.
The pursuit of a larger audience has harmed some elements.

Extremely dynamic and precise shooting game
High accessibility compared to "Returnal"
Motivating progression with significant improvements
Dense and oppressive science fiction-horror atmosphere. Varied weapons with noticeable differences.
Tactical depth thanks to modifications and a risk-reward system.
Typical moments of frustration in Roguelite games due to restarts
The independence of events can negatively impact the races.
The opponent's design is not always at a higher level.
Possible repetitions in the course of the game

More weapons and variants than Returnal
Shorter, more manageable runs lasting 20-30 minutes each, while players can extend their run and keep going if they wish
Escape sorrow, embrace madness
Permanent upgrades make Arjun feel like a powerhouse towards the end
One of the best games centered around Robert W. Chambers' masterpiece to date
Sam Slater's soundtrack sets the tone
Eclipse mechanic makes runs more challenging in the second half
Much shorter runtime, with a full completion and true ending achieved in less than 15 hours
Less diverse array of weaponry compared to Returnal, focusing more on traditional kinetic projectiles
The mystery of Carcosa is largely lost as the story is explicitly pieced together for the player
Fewer room variants means you'll recognize the same layouts in future runs
Arjun Devraj can't take no for an answer

... you want to earn your progress and not receive it as a gift.
... you enjoy the feeling of constantly improving in a game.
... intrigues you, how the concept of Hades would work as a blockbuster.
You throw in the towel after failing for the fifth time against the same boss.
... you mainly want to relax by playing and avoid stress as much as possible.
Do you want to immediately understand everything in a story?
