18 Maps
Skirmish mode is surprisingly fun
Zombies is intense and massive
Overclock system is terrific
Not a ton of innovation
Not sold on classic matchmaking
[90/100] reviewed at 14/11/2025 - Test Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 ? A Colossal, Content-Packed Powerhouse [read the full review on COGconnected]

A gigantic and exciting Zombies map and even Dead Ops Arcade is back
The most balanced, most fun and most packed multiplayer suite for a COD in years
Impeccable presentation and technical background
What we've seen of the post-launch support is incredible
The multiplayer still carries some of Modern Warfare (2019)'s flaws
The Zombies experience could have been a tad more daring
reviewed at 11/12/2025 - Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 | Season 01 Impressions [read the full review on XBoxEra]

Dead Ops Arcade 4
Open lobbies with minimal SBMM
Survival zombies modes for bite size gameplay
Directed mode for zombies is time-gated
No "Pros & Cons" find at TierraGamer

Competitive and in top zombie form...
Cooperative campaign with a final goal...
... even if a little soft and inconsistent
Some technical uncertainties

Mind-bending narrative has some flashy set pieces and justifies bringing zombies into an otherwise grounded narrative
Narrative payoffs for those following Woods and Mason's career throughout the franchise
Shared progression incentivizes players to enjoy the campaign and Endgame through unique camos and unlocks
Emma Kagan (Kiernan Shipka) lacks the gravitas or presence of prior Call of Duty antagonists
Campaign missions set in Avalon fail to impress
No difficulty settings for the main campaign leads to one of the easiest campaigns to date, not counting Endgame
Co-op campaign lacks drop in/drop out support
Dying in Endgame resets progression back to zero
Despite being set near the Mediterranean Sea, the ovens in Avalon all operate off Fahrenheit
No Platinum trophy on PlayStation 5

End of a very interesting game with many possibilities.
Very solid multiplayer, as usual
Technically, the cross-gen approach comes at a cost.

More enemy variety than ever before
?Endgame? is a novel and enjoyable new game mode
?Campaign? is not optimised for the single-player experience
Sheer amount of content can be disorienting for those unfamiliar with the franchise

The multiplayer is very solid; it has been greatly improved after the beta.
Very fun and addictive Zombie mode.
The return of Dead Ops Arcade in Zombies mode
Offering a wide variety of game modes that are suitable for everyone.
Solid overall performance and graphic fidelity
The soundtrack stands out more in the menus than in the game itself.
Covering so much ground may have worked against him: he does a lot of things well, but not in an excellent way.
No "Pros & Cons" find at GameSpew

Generally runs smoothly
Gunsmith is still a delight
Nice progression
The new maps seem too claustrophobic
With the higher pace, there is a lack of anything truly innovative here

Cooperative campaign for 4 players
Rocky fluidity and with a very good audiovisual section.
The campaign is unlikely.
The multiplayer version remains very demanding and chaotic.

Fun and nostalgic Zombie mode
Possibility to play cooperatively with up to four players in the campaign.
Multiplayer maps are often too large and scattered.
The Zombie mode is always a guarantee, but we want more maps!
Great even as a solo campaign
Shared progression is awesome
Endgame adds a lot of replayability and has a lot of potential to evolve
Villain and twist fall flat
Open-world missions are still a miss

Boss battles and intense nightmare sequences as highlights
Various places from Avalon to the jungle
Fleets, modern movement with wingsuit, grappling hook and company.
Solid expansion with 11 missions plus "Endgame" mode.
The single player campaign seems empty, as it is completely devoid of any AI partner.
The opponent's artificial intelligence is often unreliable and limited in variety.
Presentation fluctuates: there are strong moments, but also a lot of average levels.
Overall empty dialogues and sometimes lacking in emotion.
Hardly any big action scenes or destruction effects, few blockbuster sensations.

Innovative Zombies mode with travel between POIs.
A large amount of content for every type of player.
Dull and unstimulating end of the game.
Some uninspired cards and modes.
No "Pros & Cons" find at GameInformer

Changes in SBMM.
Rich content.
Monetization.
Creative choices that divide.

Successful end of game, cooperative and with a shared long-term progression.
Zombie mode among the most ambitious and varied in the saga
Obvious cross-gen origins, far from a true next-gen leap
Overall complexity that can intimidate those seeking a more immediate experience
Omnimovement is still a lot of fun
Good old fashioned FPS fun
Performance isn't always up to snuff for online co-op

Zombie mode once again convincing
Excellent technical department
Repetitive and lacking bite endgame
Too many questionable decisions (mandatory connection, lack of offline split-screen mode, etc.)

The zombies mode remains the same as in the previous installment, so the fun is guaranteed.
The new additions to the movement blend perfectly with the fast-paced style of the game.
Some optimization and stability errors, some of which have already been corrected.
It's not bad, but it seems soulless.

Combat feels good, and tweaks to omnimovement are welcome
End Game is a fun, if limited in scope
Online-requirements for solo players

Round-based Zombies with a big map and an interesting truck
If you want lots of modes to play with friends, then you have that
20v20 Skirmish mode is too frenetic
Dead Ops Arcade no longer feels novel
[6/10] reviewed at 25/11/2025 - Test Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 [read the full review on TheSixthAxis]

Zombies in three very different modes
Ashes of the Damned is vast and masterful
The omnimovement even more integrated
Iconic maps are back (Raid, Express, Hijacked, Nuketown)
DualSense fully utilized
Excellent music
Some less inspired maps
Campaign narration a little brief for some players

Gameplay Remains Solid
More Optimized Compared To Last Year
Progress Regardless Of The Mode You Play
Campaign Tries Something Different, Co-Op Is A Nice Touch
Multiplayer Feels The Same As Ever
Can?t Pause The Campaign When Playing Solo

Good open-world systems at play
Unclear plot progression leaves the player lost
Not as tight and well-rounded as Black Ops 6

Zombies have an excellent atmosphere and a return to the classic style.
The classic characters are poorly exploited.
The overall identity of the game is inconsistent and leaves much to be desired.
Weird and poorly designed bosses break immersion.
Some bugs have been noticed in the Zombies mode and in multiplayer.

The multiplayer maintains a good shooting feel and a fast pace.
Classic game modes, such as Team Deathmatch or Domination, still work just as well.
Cooperating as a group of four in the countryside can offer some good moments among friends.
Technically, the game runs correctly and remains generally stable on current consoles.

Excellent map design and consistent gunplay
Striking near-future aesthetic with polished audio direction
Always-online requirement feels restrictive and unnecessary
Nowhere close to how good it should and could be
No "Pros & Cons" find at JeuxActu.com

The enjoyable gameplay of the franchise
The flavorless, unoriginal multiplayer
The texture bugs are still present on Xbox Series S.

Fast-paced and always accessible gameplay
Live-action cinematics
A successful OST composed of successful themes
Dead Ops Arcade 4: a breath of fresh air
The Wall jumps that work well
Time to kill always lower
Technical engine that has not progressed
Zombies mode is not very remarkable and not very encouraging for beginners.
Anecdotal Final Phase Mode
Menus always quite cluttered for multiplayer
Are all the purchases already offered in-game?

The Xbox version supports mouse/keyboard.
Many accessibility options
Always new skills and weapons to discover during missions.
Alternate pipe levels and open areas
Create restore points (only in case of screen crash)
The game on Xbox Series X runs smoothly.
The intermediate sequences impress with good facial expression.
Intense weapon sounds
Beautiful directional effects
Good speaker in English
Appropriate soundtrack
No alternative difficulty levels
Many things are not explained.
Those who do not know the stories of Black Ops 2 and 3 understand nothing.
Dumb opponent like four-week-old straw
The missions are strictly tailored to cooperation, solo players are at a disadvantage.
Levels a little lacking in ideas and partly recycled from the multiplayer mode.
Some enemies of the loofah sponge
Absurd story
Four crashes during the test
Occasional pop-ups
The graph tends to flicker.
The intermediate sequences stutter.
No choice between the quality and performance modes available
German musical setting sometimes very unenthusiastic
No language selection in the options menu (system language is required)

Mastered science-fiction aspect;
Substantial content (18 cards);
Concrete servers;
Unification of modes;
Zombies are always addictive;
Well-integrated walljump.
Mandatory cooperation;
Absence of bots (AI) in "solo" campaign;
Mandatory connection;
Boring Endgame;
Experience way too classic;
Excessive news;
Maps too big;
Feeling of déjà vu, déjà joué, omnipresent;
Disappointing finish in the countryside.

Quality-of-life improvements to Multiplayer
Visually impressive
Abysmal campaign
AI Calling Cards
Minimal iteration on Black Ops 6

A better balancing of SBMM in multiplayer
Visually top-notch
The wall jump, a really nice addition...
Non-stop campaign, no solo ally and mandatory connection.
Final Phase level not suitable for Campaign mode
... but not so exploited in the end
Engagement mode that is not at all
Uneven and uninspired cards in multiplayer
Everything seems rushed, as if in an effort to release an annual installment at all costs.
A competition that managed to stand out at the worst moment

The walljump
The Zombies mode, still as effective...
... just like the multiplayer, except for the Engagement mode
No break possible during the Campaign and mandatory connection to play
The Endgame is really not engaging in the long run.
The walljump not so exploited as that
No real additions to the Zombies mode
Recycling everywhere, in fashion, as well as in maps.
It smells too much like a rushed episode and you can especially feel it
Too many genre mixes and elements seen elsewhere, for an identity far from clear.
This year, the competition is doing MUCH better.

30 weapons at launch, a lot of variety
By removing the tactical sprint, the game finally breathes a little
A blurry artistic identity and direction
A Zombie that is becoming more and more like Dead Rising.
No "Pros & Cons" find at PCGamer

Augment Research and Gobblegums carry over
Co-op campaign
Post Story gameplay
Campaign uses different controls than rest of the game
2/3 of multiplayer maps is reused layout of other maps
Zombies maps reuses old content with some modifications
No "Pros & Cons" find at PXLBBQ

The Zombie world remains cool
The campaign is planned for the cooperative.
Multiplayer maps are too small.
Spawnkill in loop
A solo with little emotion
Always the same game
Co-op campaign that isn't afraid to experiment and get weird
+
Refined multiplayer that packs a couple of new twists
+
A huge game with lots to do, especially with friends
Setting and narrative is underwhelming
-
Campaign bosses and power progression feel off
-
Shared progression can make everything feel samey
No "Pros & Cons" find at Gaming Trend
For series veterans, some touching moments.
Movements and special skills ensure varied battles.
consists mainly of boring robot shots.
The campaign recycles the locations and enemies (zombies from previous CoD games).

Graphically, it's always a marvel, even in the rare cutscenes.
For the most nostalgic, it will be incredible to relive the characters, maps, and weapons of Black Ops 2.
The soundtrack is non-existent and the characters are forgettable.
The multiplayer is too conservative with Black Ops 6.
Sublime selection of enjoyable maps at launch
Seasonal updates confirmed to introduce more content
Thrilling zombies experience
The new wall jump mechanic feels more arbitrary than essential

Many cards at launch
More diverse lobbies thanks to improved SBMM.
Creative highlights of the campaign
The zombie mode doesn't offer anything new.
Overall incoherent campaign
It looks more like a DLC than a full part of the series.
