The patterns of the many enemies are easy to learn, making combat a bit easier when you start getting to higher levels.
The sound engineering is excellent and can immerse you into the game.
Witchfire has a large variety of weapons and spells for any playstyle when you finally unlock them.

The game gets tougher the more you level up, so if you level yourself up too quickly, you will eventually level yourself up into a wall.
While it makes sense not to start off with any powerful weapons or spells, It would've been nice if there was at least one lower-level spell for you to start off with.
