Sonic Generations benefits from visual improvements and the addition of the Drop Dash and Chaos research.
The white space like Overworld is extremely fun and full of things to do.
The Shadow levels in 2D and 3D are extraordinary.
Scenario design is used to exploit all the mechanics of Shadow.
Doom powers are very satisfying and fun movements to perform.
The new story of Shadow and its development seem more natural than those we saw in 2005.
The duration of Sonic X Shadow Generations is very short, and depends on its replayability to feel that the purchase was worth it.
In the levels of Shadow, there are missing collectible items to motivate replayability.
Lack of variety in challenges

Both Sonics and Shadow control distinctly and have their own moves and quirks
The 3D "Boost" style stages and 2D stages are dense with alternate routes and collectibles that add substantial replay value
Shadow's Sonic Frontiers-inspired, fully 3D White Space hub area is fun as hell to explore
Endearing and rediculous shonen-style edgy melodrama that never fails to entertain
Good pinball minigame
Questionable changes cut gags from the original that make no sense
The game frequently goes autopilot during gameplay

New levels with refined mechanics and powers, making Shadow a standout character with a unique, thrilling playstyle.
Blends classic side-scrolling action with modern 3D platforming.
Offers updated graphics with the beloved gameplay of the original.
Shadow?s rock-heavy soundtrack adds to the intense experience.
Compared to Shadow?s polished levels, Sonic?s parts suffer from tricky targeting, frustrating enemy placements, and occasional awkward camera issues.
The story conclusion feels underwhelming and repetitive, lacking impact.

Sonic Generations is pretty fun!
Shadow's character controller plays great and is very responsive.
Some great 3D stages with fun boss fights.
A nice little recap episode for Shadow the Hedgehog.
Sonic Generations is a barebones port with added bugs, a lack of polish, and no improvements.
Shadow's hub world is boring and scatterbrained. Challenge levels are nothing more than padding.
A fair bit of mechanic bloat on Shadow's part.
2D Shadow levels should be outlawed.

Shadow campaign with new skills
Time travel is original.
Mix of 3D and 2D phases, twisted by the influence of Black Doom
The White Space brings something different.
Spanish dubbing
A large amount of collectibles and additional content
The control of Shadow in certain phases is awkward.
Some repetitiveness in the levels of Shadow
The remastering does not bring many new features.
