The plot of Ryukishi07 and his storytelling. Doing it twice is mandatory and not boring at all.
Fantastic puzzles with many changes in difficulty.
There are terrifying moments that give you goosebumps.
The audiovisual section is magnificent. Very expressive characters, Yamaoka on fire, breathtaking sound effects...
Their final bosses are bad and repetitive.
The finish line becomes unbearable with so many battles.
The levels in the real world are better than the dream levels. I hope the distribution wouldn't be 50/50.

Ebisugaoka is exceptional.
Story, dialogues, and staging are deeply imprinted in the mind of the one who is performing.
A horror video game with its own message and voice.
Sometimes, the action takes over in the worst moments of the game.
It happens that the typical grotesque of the series becomes fantastic.
The combat system is rigid and not very successful.

A decent lifespan and five alternative endings encouraging replayability.
The weak connection with the town of Silent Hill, making its attachment to the saga sometimes artificial.

Three levels of difficulty, each separately for action and puzzles.
Precise control both on the game controller and with mouse/keyboard.
Almost always, a map is available on which the protagonist draws everything that is relevant.
Next to the altars for manual backup, control points are regularly created.
More than 10 hours of gameplay (depending on the level of detail and difficulty) for the first playthrough.
History has something to say and cleverly reveals new details that shed light on the plot in a new way.
The New Game Plus strongly motivates players to replay with new content and endings.
Very well executed cinematic scenes (one scene is truly shocking due to its excessive violence)
Mysteries, level design, and the danger of ambushes create a very intense atmosphere.
A thorough exploration is almost always rewarded with items, documents, or even optional scenes.
The fights are numerous, but short and intense.
Sacrificing healing items to altars offers an interesting system of risks and rewards.
The riddles are kept atmospheric.
Journal is not only a quest log and a map, but also a narrative tool.
Beautifully designed sets with many details that contribute to the story.

Unpleasant sounds of monsters and sometimes of the environment.
"Story" as a noun for the light action level could create false expectations: even there, Silent Hill f is not without ambition.
Only the difficulty level of the action can be reduced after several consecutive deaths.
The progress in the last hour is hindered by too many consecutive battles.
Thanks to counter-attacks and imbalance as key elements, battles in "Hard" mode often end either with barely a scratch, or with massive damage.
A certain miniboss is reused in a very absurd manner very often.
The first ending leaves some questions unanswered and may seem unsatisfactory in itself.
Two riddles with clues that are too vague and no feedback on your mistakes.
Suboptimal PC optimization with occasional micro-slowdowns
In narrow alleyways, the AI sometimes bumps into walls while trying to navigate around you.
The opponents pivot remarkably in place when they change their route.
No German audio track
No overlay with translation for Japanese panels.
