Pros and cons for Code Vein II List of reviews and ratings
To better compare, we looked for you the advantages and disadvantages of Below and the notes given by specialized sites.

A uniquely haunting and gorgeous post-apocalypse
Loads of depth to combat and gameplay
Really interesting spin on video game time travel
Removal of co-op is a bit of a bummer

Time-tripping story full of compelling characters
Massively extensive character progression and combat system
Open world is beautiful, diverse, and layered with time eras
Motorcycle is a fun open world vehicle
Monsters and bosses are solidly challenging
Partner system lets you spread attention or strengthen yourself
Gorgeous soundtrack when it's playing
The early open world can be annoyingly restrictive
Music is used too sparingly in some spots
Combat impact sometimes feels lacking

A vast open world to explore
Fun character building
Some performance issues

Fun Combat, not too hard and not too easy
Similar world design to Elden Ring
Tutorials feel overwhelming early on

Captivating and ambitious narrative.
Very versatile partner system.
Truly inspiring leaders.
Large and empty areas.

Voice acting has come along way
Cool cast of characters
Time manipulation within the story is well done
Some minor performance bugs

Combat centered around using Ichor and abilities more than just regular melee
Expansive open world map
Combat feels tuned with weapons having a proper weight and momentum compared to the first game
Overly aggressive enemy AI which uses raw power over actual tactics
Massive stretches of the open world without much of interest
Grinding to master every Blood Code if you're an achievement hunter
No co-op of any sort

Far from being stingy in content...
A real pleasure to explore...
Characters all more endearing than the others
Solid gameplay
... but a little repetitive
... even if no set is striking
Technically outdated
The same button for picking up and skipping dialogues should be prohibited.

Combat feels crunching and is fun
Story really hits hard
Invisible walls
Takes too long to revive in a fight

Post-apocalyptic setting and well-characterized characters
The Blood Codes, the Formae, and the variety of weapons offer deep strategic possibilities and make the gameplay challenging.
Some enemies are reused in multiple areas, reducing the variety and surprise in battles.

The character design is successful and the allies have an interesting background.
The gameplay loop is working well.
A restricted map but without empty areas
Several endings are waiting to be discovered, without having to replay the game multiple times.
Some choices can influence the game.
Rather pleasant to the eye
The pace of the game: dynamic and focusing on offense.
A little too many reused assets in our opinion
The side quests are few in number and not very interesting.
No NG+ or the possibility to complete exploration or ongoing quests after seeing the last ending.
As in all games of this genre, the camera can sometimes be temperamental.

The stories of heroes and their ramifications work.
Adding the motorcycle for exploration is great.
The customization of your character is very extensive and fun.

Not very accessible for newcomers to the genre.
Artistically uninspired
The exploration phases are fluctuating.

Deep combat
Intriguing story
Time travel

The ally system brings more strategy to our gameplay style.
A "soulslike" with several original features in the sub-genre.
The story has weight, but there are a lot of anime clichés.
Some technical issues that are not justified by the visual aspect.

Characters with exciting destinies and optional boss battles
Almost a unique accompanying feature

Extremely comprehensive character editor
The environments are not visually contemporary.
The dungeons all look very similar.
The variance of the earnings is rather mediocre.
Many mini-bosses of copy-paste
Technical shortcomings
Tutorial-Flut thanks to many systems
40 to 60 hours of gameplay without any downtime
Rich and multifaceted combat and character system
Pleasantly soft difficulty level
Clumsy boss fights on the artisanal level
A few small gaps in the gameplay
Some satisfying vampire powers
AI companions, though imperfect, provide powerful synergies and changes to combat tactics
Reasonable difficulty curve
Environments and dungeons are generic
Technical performance isn?t great
The story is an exercise in nonsensical verbiage
