Pros and cons for The Legend of Heroes Trails beyond the Horizon List of reviews and ratings
To better compare, we looked for you the advantages and disadvantages of Below and the notes given by specialized sites.

Combat is the best it has ever been
Kevin is back
Kevin?s routes are so short
Grim Garten has frame drops

A good story, with several twists and secrets.
An excellent performance on Nintendo Switch 2
Absence of translation in Spanish
The Grim Garten is a decaffeinated version of the Märchen Garten from the previous delivery.

Introduce some good news
Captivating plot with 3 different routes
Very well modeled and animated
Real-time combat and turn-based combat remain excellent additions.
The narration drags at times.
We no longer have subtitles.

Great storyline bringing 13 years of stories together
Refinements to the combat of Trails Through Daybreak II
100
+ hours of content
Lots of accessibility and technical options

Improved visuals/animation work
Full Connect events in one playthrough
Long time returning playable characters
Emotionally charged story with big reveals
Follow mode needs to go away

Nice soundtrack
Looks good
Raises the stakes
A few bugs
Some minor typos

A truly high-stakes plot
Some amazing story revelations
Deep, engaging combat
Addictive party progression
Grim Garten is a big improvement
Banging battle music
Character bloat is still a problem
Some very rough visuals

The hybrid combat system at the top of its game thanks to Z.O.C. and Blitz.
Major revelations about the lore that reward 20 years of loyalty
The staging of special attacks is always a delight!
Unmatched gaming comfort
Miles of texts that can be overwhelming
A narrative entry ticket that is far too high for newcomers.

Grim Garten is a great ongoing side mode
Runs beautifully on Switch 2
Orbment system is simple, but offers lots of customisation
Action combat could still use some work

Superb voice acting, animations, and music
Loads of diverse content to enjoy throughout
I wish the story wrapped things up better

Even more refined combat system
Graphically obsolete according to current standards.

A well-balanced multi-route narrative
The fan service as we like it
The new mechanics (ZOC, Orders, BLTZ, Awakening)
Generous and well-integrated additional content in the universe
Some of the most impressive staging and cinematics in the series.
Underexploited Quick Art
A turn-based action transition still perfectible
A sometimes unstable framerate on PS5

Loads of activities and mini-games in the world
Addictive roguelike-style side mode
Gorgeous character art and cutscene direction
Van's story is sometimes a bit too slow of a slog

Fights increasingly complex, dynamic and stimulating.
Some technical flaws, especially on consoles from the previous generation.

Fluid and strategic hybrid combat system
4K@60fps rendering and fully utilized DualSense capabilities on PS5 Pro
Japanese dubbing
+ flawless French subtitles
Colossal content (80h
+) with NG
+ and multiple endings
Steep learning curve for newcomers
Dungeons still a bit linear
No exclusive new narrative content in the remaster.

Interesting additions to the fight
Interactions between the characters
Delicious music
A little too much repetition compared to the two previous parts.
Requires enough baggage when it comes to the series.
Feels visually like a step back compared to Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter.

Quelques musiques anecdotiques
Linéaire et long à démarrer
NISA, l?anglais c?est plus possible?
Les quelques expressions française qui frustrent encore plus

No noticeable issues even in handheld mode
Soundtrack is quite enjoyable
Can get stuck in the mandatory trip through the side mode
Voice acting seemingly turns on and off at random points

Excellent Switch 2 port!
Lots of stuff to do, tons of characters, side content, etc.
Extremely taxing and vague foreshadowing dominates the story.
Combat is somehow both too simple and has too much going on. Active identity crisis!
Very generous in content
Combat gameplay
it's very pretty
No VOSTFR
The plot is choral and gains interest with each chapter.
The soundtrack.
A more than decent amount of content.
Technically, we can already see some seams and occasional problems.
I enjoyed the Grim Garten
Intriguing central plot, building on 13 games worth of world design
Mix of real-time and turn-based combat is great
Constantly halts its plot threads to fawn over returning characters
Character writing is a bit wonky at times, with a lack of growth or interesting conflict within the groups
Pacing is horrible overall
