Takes a ridiculous narrative premise and does wonders with it
Excellent characters brought to life by sharp writing and solid voice acting
Diverse, bright, and vivid art style
An absolutely killer soundtrack
Bonkers, memorable boss encounters
Charming hub location.
Combat is shallow and doesn't use rhythm elements as much as it should
Camera issues and floaty movement hurt the combat and make for frustrating platforming
Repetitive structure
Exploring Vinyl City is fun on the surface, but mechanically unrewarding.

Variety between boss encounters shows promise at times.
Great premise and interesting character designs.
Occasionally fun boss battles.
Abhorrent platforming.
Lackluster, unmemorable music.
Hit-or-miss voice acting.
Combat hardly feels rhythm-based.
Rote and repetitive level design.
Bugged audio during dialogue and music.
Muddy textures, anti-aliasing issues, and blurriness.
Co-op only offered on Switch without drop-in and drop-out play.
