The gameplay has gained in fluidity.
The pace of the game is better balanced.
The actors' performance
We can finally really play the infiltration card
A generous adventure (expect to spend about 40 to 50 hours to finish it)
The game's soundtrack is sublime
The addition of the Corpus, which documents the history, events, objects, and characters
Sam's skills and statistics allow for a personalized experience.
The highlights are multiplying and offering an adventure rich in emotions.
The game does not pose any great difficulty.
You may not think of anything else until your game is finished.

A story full of twists and turns and more accessible
Maneuverability during certain armed combats

A crazy casting
Very strong visually and technically
The variety of environments in Australia
The music's central place remains unchanged (see box).
A maneuverability always as clean and full of new tools available
Vehicles are so much more enjoyable to drive.
The fights are becoming more dynamic and the available arsenal is greatly enriched.
The character of Sam, still as flat
Very easy in normal mode, thanks to a not very sharp AI

Very good speakers (also in German!)
Several comfort improvements and "less annoyances" compared to its predecessor.
A good online system, also cooperative and indirect, adapted to the theme.
Spectacular boss battles

Groundwater protection areas can generally be too easily bypassed.
Subsequently, sometimes excessively long journeys.

Kojima's strangeness at its best
More accessible than the first game
More of the same
The story is less convincing.
Another "love it or hate it" game

Exploration, combat, and driving are all improved
Soundtrack is powerful
Character interactions feel far less distant
Progressions and equipment unlocks feel good throughout
Beautiful landscapes to travel and explore
A breathtaking final act
Narrative pacing and mood can sometimes be jarring
It may get very confusing, but it will make sense by the end

Strong themes and exploration of many ideas, including Kojima's past and future
Vast and detailed open world that is the best to ever do it
Delivery jobs are a delight and result in their own isolated stories to be shared
Improved combat, exploration and sandbox tidbits

Just like before, but incredibly improved in every aspect.
The level of interpretation is very high.
If you hated the first chapter, you will hardly appreciate this one, which does absolutely nothing to change your mind.

OST Sublime translates to "OST Sublime" in French.
Top-notch graphics for console
Highly renewed gameplay
It can fall into repetitiveness, but less than its predecessor.

Excellent technical compartment, bordering on perfection.
Artistic and narrative direction of sublime quality.
Exceptional distribution and memorable characters
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.

... for you, the journey is the goal.
... you simply enjoy delivering packages.
... you are looking for challenges.
... long cutscenes bother you.

Asynchronous multiplayer is once again successful.
Technically impressive
The sense of discovery is attenuated by the existence of the previous chapter.
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.

Enhanced gameplay with more action, infiltration, and new enemies (Ghost Mechs).
Some action sequences, more intense, provide sensations that are reminiscent of Metal Gear Solid and can frankly be exhilarating.
Exceptional soundtrack (Woodkid and Forssell), immersive and perfectly suited to the tone of the game.
Sublime graphic achievement fully exploiting the DECIMA engine on PS5.
Deep emotional storytelling with a powerful message about heritage and human connections.
Initial rhythm better controlled with a direct and dynamic introduction.
A plethora of casting that gets the job done
Poorly developed enemy camps, limiting strategic interest.
Narration always dense, sometimes unnecessarily complex and opaque.
Underexploited narrative arc for some promising characters (notably Neil).
Progressive loss of the initial dynamism, leading to a certain repetitiveness over time.
Fluctuating difficulty depending on the availability of the community aspect (servers disabled during the test).
Some endgame deliveries involve slightly tedious back and forth trips? to the point where one could almost whisper the word FedEx, discreetly.

Gorgeous and tactile world to navigate
+
Tarpunk sci-fi concepts better than ever
+
Sense of online community is fantastic
Friction sanded down a tad too much
-
Not a lot of reason to use its most creative tools
-
Combat is a bit simplistic

Mainly precise control on foot and in vehicle
A lot of space in route planning/delivery paths.
A very powerful story, less cryptic, with high-quality staging.
Abundant offer, mainly available early, of useful delivery tools, weapons, and equipment.
A very creative level design in more linear history sections.
A vast and diverse open world
High solo playtime (40
+ hours)
Super final
High level of detail in environments and especially in character models
Strong effects, especially reflections and shine in the rain.
Absolutely stable performance and no major detectable bugs.
Very good voice quality - also in German
First class sound effects
Excellent, atmospheric soundtrack with great tracks, including many licensed songs.
Roads, bridges, vehicles, and other players appear in your world.
The social network allows for targeted and indirectly cooperative collaboration with friends.
In general, but especially in combat, there is too little challenge.
Travel itineraries sometimes excessively long
No exceptional innovations in the gameplay mechanics.
The infrastructure/vehicles available from other players are a significant advantage, especially at the beginning.

The asynchronous online part remains a smart and essential part of the experience.
The action is clearly improved (although without great challenge)
Rebuilding a destroyed world remains addictive.
High-quality cinematic scenes
Although the writing remains at a good level, the plot is inferior to the first one and adds nothing important to the universe.
Stealth is certainly improved, but at the same time unnecessary compared to action.
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.

Top-notch facial animations...
Graphically exceptional...
Slightly more open narrative
New gadgets and exploration possibilities
Excellent dubbing and music
...sometimes unconvincing about certain characters
...but not as surprising as for the first chapter

Impactful music
Original universe
Imnersive
Repetitive on several levels
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.

Dynamic environement where the weather, floods, and rock slides are your worst enemy
Varied enemy types and robots to fight that foster more combat situations
Delivering packages and navigating tricky terrain is still as engrossing as ever
The tone runs a wide gamut of emotions from hopelessly bleak, to absolutely hilarious
Sometimes the story feels like its being weird for the sake of it

Technically impressive, even based on the Playstation 5.
Overall interesting plot...
Poor management of characters, whether they are old or new.
Kojima's authority prevails far too much over everything else.
Boss fight once again forgettable
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.

Much more enjoyable action part
The perfect soundtrack
Kojima sometimes goes too far
It lacks unforgettable bosses

The story and the characters are still just as interesting.
A new very vast map to explore
More advanced possibilities to shorten routes (DHV Magelan)
More advanced customization and progression
The stranded are much less frightening than the first installment.
The all connected "simplifies" the game too much
If you didn't hook on the first one, chances are slim that you'll hook on this one...

Quokka
Hot Springs singalongs
Blood Boomerangs
Blurring the lines of science fiction and fact
Teeters between the implausible and impossible
Masterful cinematic direction
Every pore and hair follicle drawn out on Norman Reedus' tired face
More woodkids and Low Roar tracks to keep on keeping on to
Barren landscape when playing solo
Combat can sometimes feel like a chore
Muffin Man/Trails of Cold Steel-esque dialogue
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.
Each element of the gameplay has been improved and strengthened.
Artistic direction of Yoji Shinkawa in a state of grace
The Social Strand system continues to be an incredible multiplayer experience.
It is the most conservative video game by Hideo Kojima.
The author's language takes precedence over the work.
He suffers greatly in comparison with the first episode.
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.
No "Pros & Cons" find for this reviewer.
Natural expansion (and evolution) of the original gameplay
I share an exceptional technical department
The soundtrack is still as moving.
Super longevity
The greatest emphasis on action, no matter how significant it may be, may not please everyone.
Some Kojima-esque oddities too many
A unique online experience where players build infrastructure together.
more accessible and more refined in its gameplay than its predecessor
Incredibly beautiful graphics
Spectacular intermediate sequences with a typically surreal story from Kojima...
... and many Hollywood stars like Norman Reedus and Léa Seydoux
melancholic soundtrack
Wild gun games
About 35 hours of gameplay for the story, over 80 hours for completionists.
Construction of infrastructure with a conditional cost-benefit ratio.
Monotonous long-term battles
No well-thought-out gameplay loop
Narration tending towards laborious eccentricity
