A unique and engaging system of ship upgrading and passworded power carry-overs
A superb, driving soundtrack from the eminent Yuzo Koshiro
Its systems are initially somewhat complex, with some difficult to see bullets at later stages
Doesn't reach the highest highs of pure shoot 'em up dodging thrills
The regenerating shield system may not appeal to those who favour refined dodging techniques
