GamingBolt
Improved plot and dialogue
Appealing characterization, especially for newcomer Park and Sierra 1
Strong pacing and mostly solid mission design with a good variety of objectives
Excellent presentation
Some missions tend to slow the pace significantly, creating a more tactical gameplay approach that feels overtly punishing
Only one Open Combat mission but it easily has some of the more annoying objectives
Still Call of Duty at the end of the day, with all the baggage that it brings

Press Start
A campaign with genuine character, spectacle and stakes.
DMZ delivers unpredictable, brilliantly emergent combat.
Weighty gunplay, superb audio and grounded movement.
The best overall Call of Duty experience in years.
Strict matchmaking means sweaty lobbies and lengthy queues.
Uneven maps and frustrating spawn behaviour.
Gunsmith attachment bloat compromises weapon handling.
Multiplayer plays it safe and lacks major innovation.

GameKult.com
A damn well-crafted campaign in terms of gameplay...
Dynamic TTK, but not oppressive
Nice selection of maps at launch
Apex upgrades, a great lever to tweak your weapons in multiplayer
Well-crafted new modes (Inflation and Deadly Sector)
DMZ mode, a popular extraction shooter formula that works well
...with obvious writing flaws that tarnish the whole experience
Ground War, the poor man's Battlefield
The downside of having a mainstream extraction shooter is that the pressure and stakes are lower.
Well, the CoD community still isn't great

Upgradeable DMZ Artificial Intelligence

Nintendo-Town

The shooting gameplay is both precise and satisfying.
Enjoyable kill time
Wide variety in each of the three game modes
Dark campaign with compelling characters
DMZ mode turns Call of Duty into an extraction shooter
Progress is fast and motivating
Numerous weapons, gadgets, killstreaks, and perks to choose from
The audiovisual presentation plays in the big leagues
The Killblock map with its dynamic changes is an asset.
The Hijack mode in multiplayer is a complete failure
Melee combat and trial-and-error sections are frustrating in the campaign.
DMZ mode too complex at the beginning
Multiplayer and DMZ gameplay enjoyment depending on your teammates
Some multiplayer maps are too maze-like
Skill-based matchmaking is opaque and provides little sense of personal control.

Engaging and varied campaign storytelling
Successful blend of invasion warfare and secret agent missions
Expanded multiplayer with a wide selection of new modes
Varied multiplayer maps
Engaging DMZ mode with open world and high replayability
Powerful sound effects and successful soundtrack
Overall smooth performance on the Nintendo Switch 2
Call of Duty experience even on the go
The more open campaign sections lose a bit of focus
Tank gameplay in ground warfare is less impactful than the competition's.
Notable graphical compromises on textures and environmental details
Occasionally weak facial animations
Haptic feedback less precise than on more powerful consoles
