The new realme phones are here and today we'll be checking out the vanilla model of the series The Real Me 10. this is a mid-ranger that promises to bring plenty of bang for your buck so let's see if it delivers I'm will for GSMArena and this is our real me 10 review

The real me 10 brings similar specs and features to the previous model the realme 9 but with a couple of major changes
now there's a new more powerful Helio g99 chipset but in order to balance out the price realme has gone for a lower res main camera and cut the ultrawide cam completely so rather than a clear upgrade the real me 10 seems more like a different take on the same phone with a focus on chipset performance it's fairly light in the hand and made from plastic with a glossy gradient finish both the back and the frame are flat and the frame's matte finish adds a bit of grip an interesting design choice is that there are two camera bumps here even though one is just a depth sensor the realme 10 doesn't have any Splash proofing which you can find on some competitors the display of the phone is a 6.4 inch AMOLED with a 1080p resolution gorilla glass fire protection and a 90 Hertz refresh rate the fast refresh rate is nice to smooth out the movements on screen and no matter if you're in the auto mode or the 90 Hertz one the refresh rate can dial down to 60hz when idling to save energy the display is plenty sharp and as an AMOLED the picture is quite contrasty the colors can be fairly accurate here depending on the color mode you choose

in settings you get a wide vinyl 1 DRM for full HD streaming but there's no support for streaming in HDR the brightness of the realme 10's display is decent for this price range we measured a maximum of 430 nits with a manual brightness slider and this boost to 610 nits in auto mode when in bright conditions for audio the realme 10 has a standard 3.5 millimeter Jack for headphones and a single bottom firing speaker the speaker's loudness is just average and the sound is focused mostly on the mids that is until you max out the volume slider this enables a volume boost which brings the loudness to a very good score on our charts but it also boosts the highs to an excessive unpleasant level

You can wake up and unlock the phone with a side mounted fingerprint reader built into the power button it works great it's fast and accurate and the real me 10 comes with 64 128 or 256 gigs of storage on board and that is expandable through microSD the phone's interface is real me UI 3.0 based on Android 12. its overall clutter free and easy to use and it feels quite smooth together with a fast refresh rate many functions are provided by Google but the multimedia apps and the file manager are in-house from realme you get plenty of options to customize the looks of the UI through the personalizations page in settings there's also a sidebar which you can swipe open to access customizable shortcuts you can also open apps within flexible floating windows either from within the sidebar or the task Switcher these features are powered by a new chipset from mediatek a helio g99 built on a six nanometer process

it's not a chart topper but it is a notable step up from the realme 9's Snapdragon 680 which was seriously lagging behind the competition the real me 10 performs better than the previous model when it comes to CPU tasks but the GPU is its real strength in graphics tests the real me 10 is among the best scoring phones in this price range that's great for gaming on a budget as well as a fluid UI experience and on top of that the phone a star prolonged stress tests even when running a Peak Performance for a long time there was no thermal throttling here the real me 10 has a 5 000 milliamp hour battery just like last year's model the battery life here isn't record-breaking like the real me nines but it's still impressive with an overall endurance rating of 126 hours in our proprietary tests the real me 10 supports 33 watt fast charging and the charger comes in the box with it we were able to charge the phone from 0 to 48 percent in half an hour not too exciting but decent for the size of the battery now onto the cameras like I mentioned before realme has gone from a triple camera setup to a dual one this year with a 50 megapixel main Cam and a depth sensor the main cam saves 12.5 megapixel photos by default these are contrasty and the dynamic range and colors are alright but the resolve detail is mediocre and the sharpening is way over the top resulting in an artificial over processed look we were hoping that despite the change in the main cam to a lower res sensor the quality would still be on par this time around but it

does seem like a downgrade here portraits are captured with the help of the depth sensor and they're solid the subject is detailed and well exposed and the separation is quite good for this price range there is a two-time zoom toggle on the viewfinder but there is no Advanced Zoom processing what you get is a simple crop and upscale of the 12.5 megapixel photos in low light conditions the real mate 10 will automatically apply night mode processing to its photos these have a bright exposure good contrast and decent dynamic range however the detail level is poor and sometimes smeared looking and meanwhile the heavy sharpening and over processed look are here to stay the photos we took with the net mode disabled are passable at least these have a more realistic look they're overrun by noise though you can take selfies with a 16 megapixel front-facing Cam and these are okay they aren't the sharpest around but there's low noise and accurate colors good dynamic range and the detail level is alright for the class video recording is limited to 1080p resolution at 30 FPS the quality is good with enough detail balance sharpening accurate colors and solid dynamic range there is no electronic stabilization available though so that's the real me 10. we're happy that real me has improved on the chipset this time around together with the 90 Hertz AMOLED the user experience here feels pretty smooth overall and there's good battery life too the main downside here is the downgraded cameras or camera the quality here isn't great and it's not like last year's cameras were to die for but at least they were a lot more versatile still the real me 10 offers plenty of bang for your

The Realme 10 is priced just the same as Realme 9 and the phone is now more powerful owing to the Helio G99 chipset upgrade. Something had to give, though - the ultrawide camera is gone now, and the 108MP sensor for the primary has been swapped for a 50MP one.
